The brief was to create a space that captured the essence of both modern and retro styles while channeling the cozy vibes of a typical townhouse. A Smeg fridge was an absolute must, coupled with natural wood, exposed limestone, and traditional cement tiles. The design therefore meant merging these elements to form a space that felt both familiar and fresh.

Navigating the unique challenge posed by the small, angular rooms, strategic design maneuvers had to be used. Utilizing a mix of checkered and a larger floor pattern with a play on cement tiles, diverts attention from the room's unconventional shapes. In the kitchen, a deliberate choice to use only top and bottom cabinetry not only visually expanded the small, triangular room but also maximized storage and counter space.

But small spaces also deserve a sweet eye-catcher! A standout element emerges in the form of a meticulous design for a custom yard door - again with small angular motifs, strategically positioned to infuse the area with an abundance of natural light, thereby elevating the overall ambiance of the space.

The objective was to curate a space that delicately balanced style and functionality, seamlessly blending classic elements with contemporary design sensibilities. This project was a testament to a passion for harmonizing contrasting design eras, resulting in a space brimming with character while paying homage to the timeless Smeg style within the cozy confines of a townhouse
